About my work
A little information about me and my work
I graduated in 1999, studying Floor Covering and Interior Textile design to degree level at Wolverhampton University.
Currently, the art I produce is of an abstract origin which combines a contemporary, decorative style, which is influenced by modern day living. I enjoy painting and drawing a variety of subjects, and more recently I have been creating work in stained glass, allowing me to explore colour and texture in a different way. It also allows me to follow the design process from initial ideas through to the finished unique product.
I am always looking at different media to create my art. I mostly create work in gouache but also use watercolour, pastel, silk paints, batik and acrylic. It mainly depends on what effects and subjects you the customer would like me to create in your unique art work. My art practice is about experimenting with different media, colour and pattern.
I am a member of an artist collective called 'blimey!' We support and encourage each other and have started to work on group events, promoting our work and that of local artists in the area. It also provides a forum to be able to talk about work and network with other artists.
